Osiris International and Notion Systems Announce Merger to Revolutionize Semiconductor Manufacturing

LAB14 News Update

July 16, 2025 – LAB14 GmbH

Osiris International GmbH and Notion Systems GmbH are proud to announce their merger, forming a unified company poised to redefine the future of semiconductor and microsystems manufacturing. This strategic move combines Osiris’ world-class automation and photolithographic process systems with Notion Systems’ cutting-edge industrial inkjet printing technology.

The newly formed entity will integrate Osiris’ automation systems and pre- and post-processing capabilities with Notion Systems’ modular inkjet platform solutions, delivering an end-to-end, high-performance manufacturing ecosystem. This integration empowers customers with even greater flexibility, throughput, and process control across a wide range of advanced applications.

Osiris and Notion have already established a strong and growing customer base across Europe and Asia, and this merger will further accelerate the joint company’s ability to scale innovation, expand market reach, and deliver unmatched value to customers worldwide.

Notion Systems, will leverage the complementary strengths of both companies to deliver fully integrated, next-generation solutions for semiconductor, MEMS, and advanced display manufacturing. The merger builds on a successful partnership established in 2020, which demonstrated the powerful synergy between Osiris’ process expertise and Notion’s digital inkjet innovation.

This merger is a natural evolution of our collaboration,” said Dr. Thorsten Kampen, new CEO of Notion Systems GmbH. “Together, we can accelerate the development of smarter, more efficient manufacturing platforms that address the growing complexity of semiconductor production.

Dr. Michael Doran, founder of Notion Systems and new COO of Notion added, “By uniting our technologies and teams, we’re creating a powerhouse for additive manufacturing in the electronics industry. Our customers will benefit from streamlined workflows, reduced material waste, and unprecedented process flexibility.

The merger was carried out in close coordination with the executive leadership of LAB14 GmbH, the parent company of both Notion Systems and Osiris International. LAB14 strongly supports this consolidation as a key milestone in its strategy to foster deeper collaboration across its technology portfolio. The merger not only strengthens the combined company’s position within the group but also creates significant added value for customers and partners through more integrated, high-performance solutions.

“By integrating previously separate process steps into a coherent, modular platform, customers benefit from enhanced process stability, increased flexibility, and reduced cycle times,” said Dr. Ferdinand Rudolph-Bartels, CTO at LAB14. “At LAB14, we see this merger as a prime example of the value our group creates: by fostering close collaboration between our companies, we accelerate innovation and respond more precisely to the evolving needs of our partners in research and industry.”

The headquarters of Notion Systems GmbH will be located in Schwetzingen, with manufacturing and R&D facilities in both Schwetzingen and Singen. The company will continue to serve global markets with a strong focus on Europe, Asia, and North America.
